RIVERBANK INFRASTRUCTURE LIFTED AT ST GEORGE

Riverbank infrastructure has been removed in St George ahead of expected low-level flooding in coming days.

Infrastructure removed temporarily includes two barbecues at the Canoe Ramp (bottom of Church Street), a double barbecue plate at the Murchison Street park, a barbecue at the boat ramp and an in-river pump at the showgrounds.

However, barbecues are available for community use at Lions Park, Rotary Park, Cavanaugh Park and opposite the visitor information centre.

River levels are currently expected to peak in the Balonne River at St George on Sunday-Monday (April 10-11), though at lower levels than those seen there prior to Christmas.
