COUNCIL IS URGING RESIDENTS TO PROVIDE INPUT TO THE 2024 REGIONAL TELECOMMUNICATIONS REVIEW

Council is urging local residents to have their say and provide input to the Australian Government’s 2024 Regional Telecommunications Review.

The Regional Telecommunications Review is undertaken every 3 years and is an opportunity for people living and working in regional, rural and remote Australia to share their views and experiences using telecommunications services.

Balonne Shire Mayor Samantha O’Toole is urging local residents to contribute to this Australian Government review into telecommunications in our area.

“Our region receives more than its fair share of issues with the telecommunication network and I would urge everyone to have their say and provide feedback to this review”, said Mayor O’Toole.

“Our telecommunications network is such an important feature of life in our day and age and the outages and limited coverage we have endured recently are matters that really need to be addressed.

“The more we can highlight any issues people are having in our region as a community, the better chance we will have of getting our issues and possible solutions on the radar of the Australian Government.

“As a Council, we have already contributed to Submissions to this Review from the Western Queensland Alliance of Councils and the Local Government Association of Queensland.”
