The Governor of Queensland, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and her spouse, Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD, will travel to the Balonne Shire Council next Wednesday 4 September – Friday 6 September, with the Vice-Regal couple set to visit towns including Dirranbandi, St George, Thallon and Mungindi.

As Governor for all of Queensland, Her Excellency is determined to travel widely throughout the State to meet Queenslanders where they live and learn more about the things that matter to them.

The three-day official visit by the Vice-Regal couple will incorporate engagements with local community members, schools and patronage organisations, including the QCWA, Men’s Shed, Meals on Wheels, and the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, which will perform at the St George Cultural Centre on Thursday evening as part of their Regional Touring Program.

The Governor will also visit Dirranbandi, St George and Mungindi Hospitals, fulfilling a pledge at her swearing-in to visit all public hospitals in the State during her term, to express her gratitude to frontline healthcare workers for their hard work and dedication.
